Why Burn Beeswax?
Beeswax candles are notoriously known to not hold other scents very well. Beeswax on its own gives off a very sweet, warm, honey scent. To get the wax to hold the scent of the essential oils well I add coconut oil to my recipe. This allows the candle to retain the scent of the essential oil but to also continue releasing it slowly as the wax burns down. Because beeswax burns at higher temperatures the wax stays solid as the candle burns down. This causes the wax to release the scent at a slower rate in comparison to other waxes such as soy. Beeswax is safer to burn than other natural waxes such as soy in homes that have children and pets.
